Thu, July 8, 2004 - 4:06 PMYeah, and I wish I were on the other side of the pond. If it were just up to Portland it wouldn't even be an issue. Unfortunately, the rednecks and religious freaks in the rural parts of this state that bring it down. In a recent poll (how accturate?) it was determined that 54% of Oregonians oppose gay marriage. -

Re: Oregon on the Defensive
Fri, July 9, 2004 - 7:01 PMPortland, July 9, 2004--State of Oregon Must Record Same-Sex Marriages---The State of Oregon must immediately record the marriages of the more than 3,000 same-sex couples married in Oregon, according to an Oregon Court of Appeals decision today. The Court denied the State of Oregon's request for a stay of the portion of the circuit court decision that required the state to register those marriages. The court had previously granted the state a temporary stay while it considered the merits of the State's request for a stay pending appeal. The temporary stay is no longer in effect.
