I am surprised it is even a daggon issue. I get into a debate about gay marriage ALL the time, some people think i AM gay. (I an actually bi). It is just absolutely absurd that people give a rat's ass who someone else chooses to sleep with at night. I am amazed, and pissed!

Ignoring the often quoted God & Bible issues about "man laying with another man"... why in history have there been other taboos about marriage? Such as cousins, interracial, interfaith, age differences, too young, etc. Any other marriage taboos you know about? How have these taboos survived or been eliminated? -

Sat, December 11, 2004 - 9:08 PMI so try not to get on a soap box anymore when it comes to the whole thing. People come up with all these extremes and it always goes to sex. THey cant understand how two people of the same sex can "do it" I expalin the hows and whys to no avail but at least I can give an answer other than "its not natural" Wann talk about not natural? . How is someone in illinois that is a church goer with good credit, no police record, that pays bills on time, tax payer, is a non drinker non smoker and just so happens to live and make love to someone of the same sex a threat to someone in texas that can't hold a job, drinks too much,smacks the spouse, and has a criminal record. Which of those two scenarios is the one that is NOT natural. go figure..... -

Tue, December 14, 2004 - 5:20 AMOh I try not to as well, but this thing truly boils my bunyons. I just can't seem to wrap my mind around it. I am pretty good at ignoring people but the rationale people have is just way to out there, like the "What next people will be marrying their pets?" argument. Now how STUPID is that, linking homosexuality bestiality is dumb and not to mention insulting.
The bible thumpers who seem to believe the bible forbids it, as if there aren't 10 million contradictory statements in the bible as well as 20 million ways to interpret them. I agree with you though..I will simply have to TRY to avoid it, people are just strange. -

its also sad that it seems everything always comes back to sex...maybe if they could get past the mechanics they would all be ok. I know for me...and no offense towards women BUT if I had to focus constantly on the in and outs of straight sex and putting my penis in a vagina then maybe I would be turned off much like the ones that can only think of penile/anal sex. Of course since most straight men are pigs 2 women are always accepted ..if not publicaly at least in their fantasies...just a matter of opinion.
